January 5, 2017

From the Principal’s Desk

Happy 2018!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed the winter break!    Thank you to all of the families who spoiled our staff with sweet treats and tokens of appreciation in the days leading up to the break – it was very much appreciated!

Memory Books are on-sale now! It’s time to order the 2017-2018 yearbook!  Order forms will be sent home with students during the week of January, but you can begin ordering now online. Yearbooks are $22.00 and must be pre-ordered (for distribution at the end of the year).  For more information, click here.

Attention 6th and 7th grade parents: Although the deadline has passed, we will still accept forms from our current 6th and 7th grade students for performing arts and/or world languages courses for the 2018-19 school year.  Please note, however, that students who turn in forms now will be placed on a waitlist.   If you need a copy of the forms, please click here.

Last Call!  Is your child interested in being in the Geography Bee?  The Geo Bee is on Wednesday, January 10 during the school day. Social studies teachers have been encouraging kids to participate. Although the deadline to participate has passed, if your child is still interested, we have 10 spots left (first come, first served).  Please contact Ms. Cohen by Monday, January 8 if your child is interested (nancy_cohen@hcpss.org).

Cold Weather Reminder:  The weather is beginning to get much colder, so please encourage your child to dress appropriately on such days.  In accordance with HCPSS guidelines, children will go outside for PE and recess unless there is precipitation or the outside temperature combined with the wind chill drops below 20 degrees.  Click here for more information.

Interested in Having Your Child Considered for a GT Class for the 2018-19 School Year? The deadline is quickly approaching on February 12.  Click here for more information.

If your child is absent from school for an excused reason, we have some guidelines and tips for making up missed workClick here for more information.
